Being a Formula 1 fanboy, I'm certainly into motorsport.
That does not mean that I'm into unnecessary car modification.
I firmly believe that there are reasons to the madness of this culture of "Amplifying the Sound of your Engine Through the Exhaust".

Exhaust System
The Exhaust system on car consists of tubing to guide waste gases out of the engine after combustion.

Exhaust Silencer/Muffler
A silencer is a device installed at the end of the exhaust system for the purpose to noise reduction.
Noise reduction is vital to reduce noise pollution to the surrounding.

Exhaust Amplifier
The opposite of a silencer. Instead of noise reduction, it amplify the sound of the engine.

The Myth of Forward Propulsion with Exhaust Amplification
Some people "Pimp Their Ride" or "J'erng Their Car" for the purpose to better racing quality.
They believe that with the more sound a car made from the exhaust, the more faster the exhaust gases will exit and give it a better forward propulsion forces.
They get this illusion from Motorsports like F1 that seems to suggest that the noisier your car is, the faster your car move.
That is true when:-
-The more powerful your car engine is, the noisier your engine.
-The noisier your engine (due to powerful combustion), the louder the sound emitted out of your exhaust.
-Motorsport cars/bikes are created to be very powerful; hence making it very noisy.
If Kimi Raikonen or Fernando Alonso had a choice, they would prefer to sit in a quieter race car. It is definitely not by choice; but by requirement of the power of the engine that they had to endure the entire race with these extreme noises.

The Supersized Exhaust= Size of Penis??
Men treat their cars like their wives. But why do they think that the size of their exhaust is relative to the size of their penises.
To some, it is the Ego factor that drives them to have EXTRA LARGE exhaust (which is mostly amplifiers).

Too Low to the Ground??
Some of them attach the 'Non-Silencer' (Amplifier) to a car that does not have enough clearance to the ground, leaving it scratching the floor when the damper is compressed (When they are on bumpy roads)
It certainly does not have enough clearance to cross over BUMPS on the roads.
Most of them would use a bizarre sideway maneuvering technique to cross over these BUMPS. (I'm sure most of you had seen this stupid driving style)

Amplification makes no Sense
These Mat Pret, Chow AhBeng and Indian Schumaker are actually morons.
They do not understand terminology of Noise Pollution.
As I said before, if Raikonnen and Alonso had a choice, they would want a quieter race cars.
Amplification is actually done due to STUPID CAR MODIFICATION CULTURE in the country. These people actually believes that Noisy Cars are COOL.
Well.... it is clearly NOT.

....the more emotional distress you get when you drive;
.....the more ANGRIER you drive,
.....the more likely you drive like a MADMAN,
.....the more likely you get into accident,
.....the more likely you DIE.
BIG CAR EXHAUST THAT AMPLIFY ENGINE NOISE IS NOT COOL.
It's for morons who plan to go deaf in 20yrs time.
