Ali Rustam barred from contesting

Umno deputy president aspirant Mohd Ali Rustam has been barred from contesting in the upcoming party polls.

The decision was revealed by the party's disciplinary committee chairperson Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen Tengku Ismail at a special press conference at the Umno headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

Ahmad Rithauddeen said Mohd Ali was disqualified from running for the post after three of his aides were found guilty of vote-buying.

"It is presumption of guilt, as the principle is that he is liable for the wrongdoing of his agents," the disciplinary head told a press conference.

I'm quite surprised. Out of so many UMNO members, Mohd Ali Rustam was selected and displayed to the public as corrupted politician.

Best of all, he gets to retain his position as the Chief Minister of Malacca.

And, where is MACC??? Weren't they trying to charge Khalid Ibrahim for giving meats in Mosque and fixing a car that he willingly sponsored to use rather than picking up a car given by the state????

-MACC is selective in their pursuit of corruption case.
-UMNO has controls over MACC.

I think Malaysia is the first country where a Minister walks around free-of-corruption-charges

when he's evidently shown.
There might be more soon; depending on who they want to kick out of UMNO election this time.
