Does Malaysia practices Separation of Powers

Restraining order served on speaker

Perak legislative assembly speaker V Sivakumar was today served with a court order restraining him from holding any unlawful assembly meetings.

Separation of Powers is a model of democratic country.


Comprise of three branches of powers.

-Executives (Prime Minister and Cabinets- The Government)

-Judiciary (Judges)

-Legislative (Members of Parliament or State Assembly)

The Executives preserves, protects and defends the Constitution

The Judiciary determines which jurisdiction any given case falls under.

The Legislative makes the law.

None of them can override to each other. That's the number 1 rule of Separation of Powers. They can't abuse the system by placing one higher than another.

It's very clear that some people in the GOVERNMENT (for goodness sake) do not understand this concept.

How could a COURT (Judiciary) restrain a State Assembly (Legislative) Speaker from holding any assembly? That just doesn't make any sense.


There are stupid people around. And occasionally they end up in the government.
